Product Spotlight: Verde Scout balance bike
I’m a bit of a purist when it comes to BMX, I’m not scared of change, actually I embrace it, but I want my BMX bike to look like a BMX bike.
There seems to be quite good support in the newer balance bike or “Mini Wheelers” style racing at local races here in Victoria, and it’s great! An awesome way to get kids involved and hooked at a much earlier age. Allowing them to develop their bike handling skills and race craft well before they have ever been able to ever before. The problem I have however is about 90% (yes a number that’s completely unfounded that I just plucked from the air to prove a point) of all balance bikes look nothing like a BMX bike. Heck, did you see that Zelvy Carbon balance bike we did a spotlight on a while back?
When I saw the Verde Scout balance bike I felt relieved and thought “Yes, finally someone get’s it”. I don’t have any children myself, but if I did this is what I would have my kid on kicking ass in the “Mini Wheelers” class.
